Unity Friends with Flair

Hello Everyone. It is Friday and time for Friends with Flair.  I made a watercolor card using my new Phyllis Harris set that I won as blog candy on Patty's blog:http://scrapclose2theheart.wordpress.com
She contacted me and told me I won one of her give aways.  I did not expect it to be an entire set.  So happy.  I love PH stamps.  I decided to play with the water color distress markers and color these images.  I used my new corner chomper deco edge (that I purchased with my 60% off coupon at JoAnn's recently).  I still thought it needed something so I added a piece of glitter tape from American Crafts.  What so you think?  Should I have left it alone or does the tape add something?

I survived my dd graduation party and I had everything ready without too much stress.  I made her a banner and hung up pictures for each year, so that everyone could see how she has grown.  Many didn't think she had changed much.  I stamped 3X 4 cards so that guests could jot her a note of encouragement, I made her hat box for cards, 8 centerpieces for the tables and the food.  Gotta love Pinterest for ideas.  I thought I would share some of the pictures.  Tomorrow is the big day, the actual ceremony.  It is hard to believe that I have one graduating.  Where does the time go?
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping in for a visit.

Graduation themed food.  Diploma Swiss cake rolls and Pirouline cookies wrapped with pull and peel Twizzlers.  I also made Banana Split Bites which was a piece of strawberry, banana slice and pineapple slice on small picks and frozen.  Then dip in chocolate and add nuts or coconut to top.  These were a big hit.

Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

Hello everyone.  It is Thursday and time for some Inspired Stamps creations. Today our theme was summer.  It is now summer vacation for most of the schools in my area.  My children are all finished for the year.  My oldest finished her last day of high school yesterday.  Bittersweet day, but I think she is ready to move on to the next chapter God has in store for her life.
Today I used Hymn Girl July and Hymn: Earth and Weather sets.  This scene reminds me of my oldest daughter, she loves the beach and loves writing and sketching (and the color pink).  So this is my tribute to her starting summer and contemplating what God has in store for her next.

I used water color Distress markers to color the sun and girl.  I used EK Success beach border punch and flip flop punch to help create my beach scene.  I colored the beach images with Distress markers and inked the sand with Distress ink.
Please be sure to stop by the Inspired Stamps Blog and to click on DT members in my sidebar to see their beautiful creations.  Thank you for stopping by have a great day.

Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

Hello Everyone!  It is new release day at Inspired Stamps.  Some new Hymn Girls and 2 X 2 scripture stamps and more.  Each DT member was assigned stamps within this new release to create a project, so be sure to check out all the DT members blogs (links are located in my sidebar) or visit the Inspired Stamps blog to see the creations.  Remember all the Inspired Stamps are clear stamps created in the USA and they will be available in the Inspired Stamps Online store this Friday at noon.
Today I was given the 2 X 2 individual scripture 1 Corinthians 15:57.  What encouraging words to anyone who may be going through any challenge.  We have the victory (we won) through Christ Jesus.
I used Bazzill cardstock in black and tomato red and used Spellbinder Marvelous Squares and a Martha Stewart corner punch (on outermost black layer).  This is a 4.25 X 4.25 card.  I tried a lot of variations until I came up with this one.  I liked the corner elements and pop of red color.  Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out everyone's beautiful work this week.

Friday Unity Friends With Flair

Hello everyone, another week passes with all of it's craziness.  Still I managed to make a few cards. I am also trying to work on the decorations for my DD graduation party (two weeks away and counting, please pray I can get done what I need to for this event).

I played some more with water colors for the focal image and then over stamped the background with this lovely image from the Unity set; Bold Insight.  I went in and water colored the flower heads with purples.  I embossed the script embossing folder onto purple cardstock and inked with Distress inks.
Added a few finishing touches like the ribbon, inking the edges and then popped up image.  Pretty clean and simple.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

Hello there everyone.  Today at Inspired Stamps we are showcasing the alphabet stamps.  I chose to use Typewriter Text Lowercase and Perfect Sentiments for my card. I punched squares from the Bazzill Vintage Marketplace papers and rounded two corners and stamped a letter on each square and then masked off the word "Happy" on the Perfect sentiment "Happy Birthday" stamp and just stamped the word "Birthday".  I added a flower punched out of same paper pad (these are double sided papers so you get lots of options).  I added a button and some sequins.  The pieces were mounted on a piece of Bazzill pink cardstock and then onto a card base.
Clean and Simple, but I think bright, cheery and cute.
Please check out the other DT posts (click the links in my side bar) for more inspiration and the Inspired Stamps Online store to see all the alphabet sets available.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.

Unity Friday Friends with Flair

Hello.  It has been a busy past few weeks with many more to come.  My oldest is graduating this year.  I can hardly believe it.  Time has truly flown by.  I remember moms telling me to cherish every moment because it would go by fast and phew!  They were not kidding.
If anyone has any great ideas for the graduation party (decorations, food etc...) I am open to ideas.  Thanks.

For the card today, I tried some watercoloring with Distress inks and stains.  It was fun to play and mix colors and create a scene.  The gate is from Bold Insight and the other images are from With Sympathy, Unity sets.  I popped up the gate on the card base for more depth.
Well, thanks for stopping by and please let me know what you think, not my normal style but lots of fun.

Inspired Stamps DT Thursday

Good Morning.  I wasn't sure if I would be able to post this morning, so many technical difficulties.  I finally figured away through the back door and here is my post.
Today at Inspired Stamps we were to make Graduation or Congratulations cards.  Graduation season is upon us and very much on my mind since my oldest will be graduating at the end of the month.  Boy how time flies, you remember holding them in your arms as babies and then they are graduating and looking toward their futures.  As Christians we have peace in the fact that God knows His plans for us (even if we are not so sure) and His plans are for our good, not harm.  Praise God.  Sometimes we go along in life thinking we have everything under control.  We might have done the same job for decades and feel secure it will always be there, but then something happens and it is gone.  Our future seems shaky, unfocused.  Our plans have dissolved.  Rest in the hope that God has everything under control and His plans are in place for us.  Nothing happens to us without His knowledge.  Graduates, this is a new beginning for you and God has a plan for your lives.  Take the time to pray and ask Him to show you His plans for you and then listen and obey to what He tells you.

Today I have used the Inspired Stamps set:  His Plans for You.  I stamped verse and punched around using the corner and border punch with flowers and leaves from Martha Stewart. I then chalked the flowers and the leaves.
I have used Bazzill cardstock that I embossed with large embossing folder.  I stamped the sentiment inside and used my brass Sizzix embossing folder to emboss the graduation cap.  Does anyone remember these small plastic folders with the brass template that embossed images and words.  I do not get rid of my tools so I still have them and am trying to use some of these older tools again in my projects.
Thank you for stopping by and be sure to check out the other DT projects.  Have a great day.
